August 20, 2026 – Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation has added a new 80 V rated electronic fuse (eFuse) IC, the TCKE1401NM, to its eFuse product line. Designed for 48 V power-supply line protection increasingly used in industrial equipment, the device targets servers, network infrastructure, factory automation systems, robotics, and other applications that demand high output power and high-efficiency power architectures with robust protection.
The TCKE1401NM integrates overcurrent protection (OCP), overvoltage protection (OVP), reverse-current blocking, input reverse-polarity protection, and thermal shutdown into a single chip. Compared with conventional physical fuses, it delivers faster response times and more precise protection thresholds. Both OCP and OVP trip points are adjustable via external resistors, while fault-recovery behavior supports selectable auto-retry and latch modes, offering great design flexibility.
The device features an 80 V absolute maximum rating and supports a wide operating input range from 4.7 V to 75 V, making it compatible with 24 V, 48 V, and 54 V bus systems. Housed in a compact 4.0 mm × 4.0 mm VQFN24D package, it is among the smallest 80 V-class eFuse ICs available, facilitating high-density PCB layouts. Typical on-resistance is as low as 44.5 mΩ, reducing conduction losses and improving overall system efficiency. Additional auxiliary functions include a FLAG fault notification output, a Power-good (PG) voltage-status indicator, and an output-current monitor, enabling real-time system power monitoring.
The TCKE1401NM complies with relevant environmental standards and is suitable not only for industrial equipment but also for consumer products such as power tools and home appliances, providing a highly reliable, highly integrated semiconductor protection solution for a wide range of power-supply lines.
