Littelfuse Introduces FlatSuppressX™ Series TVS Diodes, Providing Ultra-Low Clamping Protection for 48V Automotive Systems

ROSEMONT, Ill., USA and SHANGHAI, China – July 22, 2026 – Littelfuse, Inc. (NASDAQ: LFUS) today announced the launch of the FlatSuppressX™ TP5.0SMD-FL (5 kW) and TP1KSMB-FL (1 kW) series of transient voltage suppression (TVS) diodes. Designed specifically for next-generation 48 V automotive electronic systems compliant with ISO 21780, these devices deliver ultra-low and stable clamping performance to effectively protect sensitive ICs such as DC/DC converters and gate drivers from transient overvoltage events.

Leveraging Littelfuse's proprietary FlatSuppressX™ technology, these devices maintain a nearly constant and extremely low clamping voltage during fast transients and high-energy surge events, significantly outperforming conventional TVS diodes that may exhibit wide clamping voltage fluctuations. Their advanced Foldback/Snapback I-V characteristics precisely control transient response while avoiding latch-up risks, enabling engineers to select downstream components with lower voltage ratings, thereby reducing system stress and bill-of-materials (BOM) costs.

The TP5.0SMD-FL series, offered in a DO-214AB (SMC) package, delivers up to 5000 W of peak pulse power; the TP1KSMB-FL series, in a compact DO-214AA (SMB) package, provides 1000 W of peak pulse power, offering flexible protection options for different system requirements. Both series are AEC-Q101 qualified, feature a typical response time of less than 1 ps, and incorporate a low-profile surface-mount design to optimize PCB space utilization.
