Vishay’s New 200 V FRED Pt Ultrafast Recovery Rectifiers in DFN6546A Package Support up to 15 A

April 22, 2026 – Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today introduced 16 FRED Pt® ultrafast recovery rectifiers in the new low-profile DFN6546A package with wettable flanks. These 200 V devices provide current ratings from 6 A to 15 A and are available in commercial and AEC-Q101 qualified automotive grades, offering spacesaving, highefficiency solutions for commercial, industrial, and automotive applications.

The DFN6546A package measures 6.5 mm x 4.6 mm with a typical thickness of only 0.88 mm. Compared to the samesize SMPC (TO-277A) package, the thickness is reduced by 10 %, while the current rating is increased by 50 %. Optimized coppersubstrate design and advanced chip layout technology ensure excellent thermal performance, supporting operation at higher currents.

The devices are suitable for highfrequency inverters, DC/DC converters, freewheeling diodes, loaddump protection, clamping and snubber circuits, and LED backlighting. Automotive applications include ECUs, LED lighting, ADAS, LiDAR, camera systems, and 48 V power buses, chargers, and BMS in EVs/HEVs. They also serve industrial automation, energy harvesting, consumer electronics, communications, and medical equipment.

The rectifiers feature low reverse leakage current, a wide operating temperature range (-55 °C to +175 °C), a low forward voltage drop down to 0.75 V, fast reverse recovery time (trr), and low reverse recovery charge (Qrr), reducing power losses and increasing efficiency. The wettable flanks enable automatic optical inspection (AOI) without Xray examination. They are suitable for automated pickandplace assembly, have an MSL 1 rating, a peak reflow temperature of 260 °C, and are RoHScompliant, halogenfree, with mattetin leads meeting JESD 201 whisker test requirements.
