December 18, 2025, Shanghai, China – Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation ('Toshiba') today announced the launch of the 'TCD2400DG,' a reduced-image type CCD linear image sensor designed for matrix cameras used in vision inspection equipment. The product is available for volume shipment starting today.
The TCD2400DG is a color linear sensor featuring three image arrays, each with 4096 pixels at a 7μm pixel pitch. Each line independently detects red, green, and blue (RGB) primary colors. Its line rate reaches 22.7kHz, approximately double that of Toshiba's previous model, the TCD2564DG (10.5kHz). This significant increase can substantially enhance the processing speed of image inspection equipment used in applications such as food sorting, foreign object detection, and surface defect inspection of industrial products.
The sensor integrates timing generator and CCD drive circuits. This integration not only reduces the number of external signal lines but also eliminates the need for external drive circuitry, lowering system design complexity and electromagnetic interference. It aids in optimizing equipment wiring and development processes.
