ROHM Launches General-Purpose Motor Driver ICs Widely Suitable for Brushed DC Motors

November 13, 2025, Shanghai, China – ROHM Co., Ltd., a globally renowned semiconductor manufacturer, today announced the launch of two general-purpose motor driver ICs, the 'BD60210FV' (20V rated, 2-channel) and 'BD64950EFJ' (40V rated, 1-channel). These new products are suitable for consumer electronics, including white goods like refrigerators and air conditioners, as well as industrial equipment applications.

The new driver ICs address growing demand for energy-efficient brushed DC motor control amid accelerating automation across industries, while also meeting market requirements for design standardization, component count reduction, high reliability, and compact size. ROHM's new ICs optimize package design and circuit structure to enhance design efficiency while maintaining versatility and minimizing external components.

The BD60210FV is a dual-channel H-bridge driver capable of driving two brushed DC motors or one stepper motor. Its direct PWM control architecture requires no booster circuit, significantly simplifying system design. The BD64950EFJ supports both direct PWM and constant current PWM control modes. Featuring low on-resistance, it effectively suppresses heat generation and is suitable for high-voltage operation scenarios such as 24V systems.

Both products offer excellent low-power characteristics, with a typical standby current as low as 0.0µA, significantly improving the energy efficiency of end equipment in standby mode. Their general-purpose package design facilitates integration into new projects and aids design standardization and derivative model development, providing more efficient motor drive solutions for consumer electronics and industrial equipment.
