MALVERN, Pa., USA and SHANGHAI, China – June 12, 2026 – Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced four new products in its IHXL series of radial through-hole inductors: the automotive-grade IHXL1500VZ-3A and IHXL-2000VZ-3A, and the commercial-grade IHXL1500VZ-31 and IHXL-2000VZ-31. The new devices feature a novel iron-alloy core material that reduces core loss by 20% and lowers temperature rise compared to the previous generation. They operate at up to +155 °C and provide excellent electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) for filtering applications up to 209 A.
The inductors are suitable for automotive, industrial, solar, and wind energy applications, serving as high-current input filters, DC/DC converters, and DC-Link filters in battery charging systems, brushless DC motors (BLDC), differential mode chokes, and boost power factor correction (PFC) chokes. Compared to the previous IHXL generation, the new inductors offer lower cost while providing lower core loss and inductance up to 10 µH, enabling higher impedance for optimized filtering and improved ripple current control in switching converters.
All four inductors feature a magnetically shielded construction with a compressed iron powder core that confines stray flux and minimizes coupling with adjacent components, maximizing EMC performance. The compressed iron powder structure also offers low internal thermal resistance, reducing hot spots and improving performance under active cooling, while the flat top simplifies external heatsink attachment. The inductors utilize a thick copper conductor internally, supporting a wide load current range from 55 A to 209 A, and are available in 1500 (38.1 mm × 38.1 mm × 21.89 mm) and 2000 (50.8 mm × 50.8 mm × 21.7 mm) case sizes. The soft saturation core material avoids saturation, ensuring stable inductance over a wide load range, including during high transient current spikes.
The devices are RoHS-compliant, halogen-free, and meet Vishay Green requirements. They offer high resistance to thermal shock, moisture, and mechanical shock, and can be customized with alternative terminations, inductance values, current ratings, temperature ratings, and voltage ratings.
