MALVERN, Pa., USA and SHANGHAI, China – March 20, 2026 – Vishay Intertechnology, Inc. (NYSE: VSH) today announced the launch of a new series of AEC-Q200-qualified thick film chip resistors – the RCA-SR e3 series. This series combines excellent sulfur resistance with long-term stability and is available in five compact package sizes, making it suitable for automotive, industrial, and communications applications.
The newly released resistors are specifically designed for sulfur-laden environments and meet the anti-sulfur performance requirements of the ASTM B809-25 standard, with a maximum resistance drift of only 1% after 1,000 hours of operation at 60°C – outperforming competing devices under the same temperature conditions over a longer test duration. Additionally, the RCA-SR e3 series offers high stability under harsh environmental conditions, with a relative change rate (ΔR/R) of ≤ 1% after 1,000 hours of operation at rated power at 70°C.
The RCA-SR e3 series is available in five package sizes: 0201, 0402, 0603, 0805, and 1206. It offers a rated power of up to 0.25 W and an operating voltage range from 30 V to 200 V. The resistors feature a wide resistance range from 10 Ω to 10 MΩ, with tolerances of ±1% and ±5%, and temperature coefficients (TCR) of ±100 ppm/K and ±200 ppm/K.
The series is RoHS-compliant and halogen-free, with a special protective coating that provides electrical, mechanical, and climatic protection. The RCA-SR e3 series is suitable for automatic soldering processes such as wave soldering, reflow soldering, or vapor phase soldering, and its pure matte tin plating is compatible with both lead-free (Pb) and lead-containing soldering processes.
