Vishay's AC03-CS Series Axial Safety Resistors Now Feature Bent-Lead WSZ Option for Surface Mounting

Vishay Intertechnology has introduced a bent-lead (WSZ) option for its AC03-CS series axial wirewound safety resistors, enabling the components to be processed with pick-and-place equipment as surface-mount devices (SMD). This advancement significantly reduces assembly time and production costs.

Designed for automotive electronics, electricity meters, industrial drives, and appliance power supplies, these resistors provide inrush current limiting, pre-charge, and discharge functions. They ensure safe circuit protection by fusing reliably under high-voltage DC overloads or accidental exposure to 120 VRMS / 240 VRMS AC mains voltage.

The resistors feature a flame-retardant silicone coating compliant with UL 94 V-0, eliminating the need for an additional fuse. Meeting AEC-Q200 standards, they operate from -55 °C to +200 °C, offer a 3 W power rating, and support high surge voltage endurance for demanding applications.
