The annual Arm Tech Symposia, a major technical conference, successfully concluded this week in Shanghai and Shenzhen, marking the perfect end of this grand event that toured five major cities in the Asia-Pacific region. With the theme of "Let's Join Hands to Reshape the Future", the two stops in Shanghai and Shenzhen presented four inspiring keynote speeches, four in-depth dialogues, thirteen technical speeches by ecosystem partners, thirty-three technical speeches on Arm special topics, and two creative developer workshops. It attracted over 3,500 industry professionals, engineers, and developers to register and participate, jointly exploring the cutting-edge innovations based on Arm technology and the development trends of artificial intelligence (AI).


During this conference, Arm delved deeply into the computing requirements of AI and shared how to help partners better grasp the development opportunities of AI through its three core elements: hardware, software, and ecosystem. By adopting a system-level design concept, Arm focuses on the collaborative optimization of hardware and software, launching computing subsystems (CSS) for different application markets, expanding the underlying technology, and strengthening the demand for AI computing. At the same time, Arm continues to invest in innovative software technologies, aiming to provide 20 million developers worldwide with an efficient, user-friendly, and seamless development experience from the cloud to the end-user. In addition, Arm, through a series of ecosystem projects including Arm Total Design, assists partners in accelerating the product launch process.


As one of the most significant technological changes in the current era, AI has the great potential to become one of the most important technologies in human history. Arm not only provides a widely used general-purpose computing platform but also combines IP with open-source software, development tools, and a broad and leading industry ecosystem, enabling 20 million developers worldwide to use the Arm computing platform as the foundation for AI innovation. With the close cooperation of numerous ecosystem partners, Arm estimates that by the end of 2025, there will be over 100 billion Arm devices with AI capabilities worldwide.

James McNiven, Vice President of Product Management at Arm's Terminal Business Unit, emphasized in his keynote speech at the Shenzhen venue that Armv9, as Arm's latest technical architecture, was designed to support AI computing from the very beginning and has been continuously iterated and updated. Through key technologies such as SVE, SVE2, and SME, Arm, with its architectural innovation and powerful software-hardware collaboration capabilities, continuously optimizes the AI experience on mobile devices and empowers developers to achieve excellent AI performance.

Han Boxiao, General Manager of the vivo Product Line, said, "AI is bound to reshape the interaction mode between humans and devices, and everything we do is to make AI better serve humanity. As vivo's flagship product launched this year, the vivo X200 series globally premiered the Dimensity 9400 platform based on the second-generation all-large-core architecture, equipped with Arm's latest-generation Cortex-X925 super-large core, achieving PC-level CPU performance. In addition, vivo and Arm have continuously deepened their cooperation and jointly established a joint laboratory this year. The two parties respectively give full play to their advantages in user understanding and technology empowerment, striving to create an outstanding AI experience for users."

Liao Lei, Chief Engineer of In-Vehicle Software at the Automotive Engineering Research Institute of Guangqi Automotive Group, shared the innovative R&D model in the context of the automotive industry's competitive landscape. He emphasized that Software-Defined Vehicles (SDV) is driving the in-vehicle software R&D model to move towards platformization, flexibility, agility, and differentiation. The realization of SDV depends on the close integration of R&D models, software architectures, and development tools. However, due to limitations in hardware and suppliers, as well as a long development and verification cycle, SDV faces challenges in adapting and deploying on different hardware platforms. Therefore, an innovative software architecture is of crucial importance. The software architecture of SDV can decouple software and hardware, achieve rapid adaptation and iteration based on the platform, and, through tools such as low-code development and virtualization verification, create an excellent travel experience for users.

Currently, more than 20 million software developers worldwide are building applications on Arm-architecture-based devices, and software-related topics have become one of the core focuses of this annual technical conference. Arm's continuous investment in software has achieved remarkable results and is gradually building the world's largest AI developer community. The developer workshop held for the first time in this conference received a warm response from participants. Focusing on topics that developers are highly concerned about, such as native applications of Windows on Arm, LLM inference on the Android system, and generative AI acceleration, the workshop provided developers with intuitive technical experiences, stimulating their innovation potential and injecting new impetus into related application development.


The Arm Tech Symposia is one of Arm's largest and most influential annual technical events, comprehensively showcasing the achievements of Arm and its ecosystem in the latest market progress and innovative technology research and development. To date, partners' shipments of chips based on the Arm architecture have exceeded 300 billion, and such a huge market share foundation enables Arm to support the vigorous development of various AI technology fields.
