Leading global optical solutions provider ams OSRAM (Swiss Stock Exchange ticker: AMS) announced today the launch of a groundbreaking innovation in the automotive front lighting field, EVIYOS 2.0. This intelligent multi-pixel LED enables fully adaptive dynamic control of the headlights and image projection.
EVIYOS 2.0 can precisely illuminate the road ahead, significantly improving the driver's visibility in high beam mode while avoiding glare for other road users. The product features 25,600 individually controllable emitters with a pixel pitch of 40μm, allowing high-resolution image projection onto the road surface to display warning signs to the driver or guide them around obstacles.
The application of EVIYOS 2.0 will greatly enhance road safety, enabling drivers to respond promptly to potential risks previously difficult or impossible to detect. The expanded field of vision will optimize the driving experience at night, making it more enjoyable and safer.

Current automotive safety features focus on ensuring the safety of drivers and passengers inside the vehicle, and EVIYOS 2.0 takes safety to the next level. By projecting images onto the road surface at night, vehicles can communicate information to the driver and those around the vehicle in an innovative way. For instance, headlights equipped with EVIYOS 2.0 can project snowflake symbols on the road, warning the driver of icy or slippery conditions and enhancing their awareness of potential hazards to reduce the risk of accidents.
The newly launched EVIYOS 2.0 is the result of a decade-long engineering effort by ams OSRAM and is now in mass production.
Wolfgang Lex, Senior Vice President of ams OSRAM's Automotive Division, stated, "High-resolution adaptive headlights will become a significant differentiating feature among the world's top automotive brands." (EVIYOS 2.0 technology is the key to achieving the most precise and controllable headlight system and is a major innovation pioneer in the automotive industry.)
The integrated pixelized architecture provides more uniform optical output.
EVIYOS 2.0's design incorporates multiple innovations in chip design and manufacturing by ams OSRAM. The product consists of an integrated pixelized μ-LED chip matrix with 25,600 pixels, resulting in higher brightness and color uniformity.

EVIYOS 2.0 contains numerous micrometer-sized emitters and control drivers, allowing each emitter to be independently controlled for precise control of the 25,600 pixel emitters. In the glare-free intelligent high beam system, the high-pixel EVIYOS 2.0 is combined with a lens system installed inside the headlight, working in tandem with an intelligent onboard camera to observe the road conditions ahead. This enables the intelligent high beam system to control each emitter in real-time, avoiding glare for other road users while maximizing the driver's field of vision. Real-time and precise control of the emitters also allows the headlights to provide excellent illumination on curved roads, improving the driver's visibility on such road conditions.
EVIYOS 2.0 is a high-luminous flux, high-efficiency, and energy-saving vehicle-grade product. When EVIYOS 2.0 is in operation, the driver's field of vision is greatly enhanced, while unnecessary emitters are turned off, saving energy.
The emission area of the EVIYOS 2.0 product is compact, measuring only 40mm2, making it suitable for various headlamp designs. The product offers two options: 1:4 (25,600 pixels) or 1:3 (19,200 pixels).
